Empowering Rustenburg’s communities through sustainable development and a future beyond mining.
ABOUT THE TRUST
Rustenburg Chrome Community Empowerment Trust (RCCET) is established and sponsored by Rustenburg Chrome Mining (RCM), a subsidiary of Clover Alloys company.
RCM took over the operations of the mine from the previous owners after the mine was put under care and maintenance in 2019. When the mine reopened, the shareholders took a decision to set up the Trust as a way of contributing towards the mine’s community socio-economic development given, amongst others, the level of unemployment within the mine communities.
RCCET is a funding trust established to support socio-economic development in host communities affected by the Rustenburg Chrome Mining operations. It aims to provide financial resources for qualifying community projects in terms of the Trust’s founding objectives.
The Trust has a 30-year vision aimed at sustainable development and community satisfaction, with milestones set for every 10 years.
The Board of Trustees have adopted the vision to help prepare communities for a future beyond mining.
